@stangryafterdark: I’m trying to pay it off faster but I really thought you could pay just straight towards interest😭 #stangry #corvette #autoloan #carsoftiktokcontest #tiktokgrowthchallenge
You have to request it to be towards the principal only.

yes you can make lump sum payments. and have them go towards the principle only. but you have to tell the bank you want any extra payments go towards the principle only. but if you can afford it. you could make your regular monthly payment every 2 weeks pay it off in half the time and pay half the interest. BUT check you loan documents some loan companies penalize you for early payoff because they actually lost money in interest payments.

You have to let them know that you want to make an extra payment otherwise it thinks you are just paying the next months payment and takes principal and interest in accordance with the amortization schedule. Yes you can payoff early in full or part. Just call them so they know how to apply it. They are lying if they tell you know. You’re welcome.

I could be wrong but doesn’t the second payment you make go towards principal.. so basically u have to make your regular payment then a day or two later make another payment and that goes towards principal principal

The way to pay off debt is start with the lowest amount once that's paid off add that payment to the new lowest.

I’m guessing the high interest is cuz there’s no “collateral“? Have you looked into trying to refi the loan to a lower interest?

Try Refinance if your credit went up. Otherwise just keep making payments more than your minimum and a couple of days early.

When it comes to home loans you can specifically tell them to apply it to the principal, should be the same with car/personal loans

Your paying the interest monthly, so when you pay extra they take the interest from the next payment and your interest paid on that next payment would be less… it’s confusing at first but it is worth paying ahead… so no way around interest but yea paying extra will save you in the long run

Interest will be less if you make two half payments per month. Interest is compounded daily so less balance that is there each day the less overall you’ll pay in interest…. If you want extra payments to go towards principal call the loan company and tell them you want that payment towards the principal. I used to make half my car payment twice a month…. Took 6 months off my car loan and saved me a ton in interest

You have to call and tell them you want the extra to go towards the principal and then make the extra payment on the phone after making your normal payment on autopay or they will always apply it to the interest
