I have to disagree with you about not being able to buy groceries meaning you cannot buy lipliner. Every person deserves to hold onto dignity and if wearing a beautiful color on your lips gives you dignity and it costs a dollar as opposed to $28, then that person can, will, and should choose that. I know I would sacrifice a gallon of milk or a carton of eggs to buy a product that will last a month or more that will help me feel my best. Nina Pool helps people who would otherwise be left out of the conversation be a part of it, or at the very least have options available to them that would otherwise not be.

Ok, Kiko Milano is NOT the dupe though. They've been around longer than Charlotte's products. If anyone is the dupe, it's the Charlotte line.

I think you’re misunderstanding “people cannot buy groceries “can barely afford them. Please keep in mind that in a way, makeup is kind of a necessity for some women, depending on the job or how they look (unfortunately). You might be seen as “not being put together”. I’d look like Lois without lipstick 💀

I just got that Kiko 23 and I’ve never used a lipliner so good. I’ve only ever bought drugstore lipliners besides a couple Mac ones and now I never want to use anything but the Kiko Milano one.

I feel like Charlotte was giving off mean girl energy in that interview. And she was super wrong. I worked in the beauty space and the colors are proprietary to the brands. Are colors similar? Sure. It wasn’t okay for CT to be mean about it. It turned me off to buying anything of hers going forward. I like your idea.

I am an italian brand strategist working primarily in the beauty industry, so I know the market very well. I appreciated the objectivity of your product comparison and the donation initiative(which I think is a wonderful idea)! However, I believe the issue with CT is a matter of perception: her product ms are overpriced relative to their packaging experience or the product's actual performance, and she comes across as very out of touch lately. In recent videos, she has given the impression of a woman who is not aware of the global economic situation and focused solely on her own interests, which can be very off-putting.

oh im in enemy territory… this is out of touch & im disappointed in you for backing her.. i agree with everything nina pool said.. bsfr it’s so cheap to produce a bunch of the products and she ridiculously charges so much more. There are many good “dupes” from makeup companies that have been around way longer than her. & I don’t like CT’s greedy attitude.

I am a huge fan of you, but this hit the wrong way. You are justifying CT way too much and it came through very wrongly to your audience. You have said products were Dupes way more off than these liners are and this felt off. Personally i have both brands, somehow I always reach out for Kiko. Just the way it wears on me.

I can't put my finger on it but this feels...icky(?) to me. I think maybe you're misunderstanding why people are upset, and perhaps you're taking the grocery comment way too literally. There may be a disconnect on your part as a very successful influencer and makeup professional. At the end of the day, $28 pre-tax for a lip liner is insane. Especially when CT isn't even that quality of a brand out of all of the products in Sephora. I do appreciate your thoughtful idea at the end, but I think the problem is the profit that brands like CT make to begin with. Thank you for donating your PR to those in need of something to brighten their day. 🖤
