what if there isn't one single gaster character. but multiple of them? by that I mean it like in undertale, one of gaster's follower say that he is shattered across time and space. so what if the egg man and the gaster sprite we see are just a piece of him. and that he isnt one person anymore but just many pieces of him

so what I kinda caught was represented here basically is the fact that Kris IS actually trying to forget. this accompanied by the fact that the arrangement of scarlet forest present in the room plays right after the don't forget leitmotif, making it so Kris is trying to forget something that I yet don't make the connection. what's my point, Kris represents themselves or their subconscious as the man behind the tree, for they try to forget that part like they are grieving basically. tell me what y'all think

this made me think about the undertale is a monochrome copy of deltarune, and how the mysteryman room in undertale could be a copy of the egg room, and mystery man being a copy of egg man, but then i wonder, where is the tree? does the tree represent more than just a way to hide the egg man?
