Okay okay okay but DID Louis raise her?? Cuz from what I’m remembering from my multiple watches of season one, LESTAT was the one raising her, teaching her how to hunt, teaching her piano, teaching her chess—which easily could be argued as things he taught her in order to entertain himself. But he certainly put more effort into his connection with Claudia than Louis ever did. So are we surprised she hated Lestat less?

People learnt nothing from Louis admitting to Daniel during the retelling of the trial that his recounting of certain events was skewed and make Lestat look worse than he was and ignore Louis own culpability. If it’s true of him why wouldn’t it be true of Claudia from his memories of her and making her seem different to how she actually was. These are all flawed characters who are going to both willfully and subconsciously distort their memories of events

Also, (if they’re staying closer to the source material) let’s not forget in the book Merrick where this scene comes from, it is said that A) when a spirit is forced out, it may not be the true spirit; it could be a trickster. B) the spirit is unable to tell the truth unless they appear on their own.

im mildly confused about if you’re talking about what We See in the season one train scene at the beginning of the video or if you’re saying that’s not what they’re saying in a metaphorical sense. so if you’re saying it in a more contextual, metaphorical, non-literal way then please ignore the rest of this comment. but if you’re meaning it in a literal way, that we literally don’t see that lestat threatens her with worse than rape, that isn’t true. at the end of the monologue before he leaves, lestat says, and i quote, “if you try this again, claudia, i won't snap your leg, defile your pocket, and zoom off on a motorbike. i'll turn your bones to dust.” i agree with your overarching point that if something did happen on the train, a threat of the possibility it happens again is likely, though. like i fully agree with what you’re saying aside from that that is what is shown that he says to her in her/louis’ telling

i hate that all that’s being focused on from the ghost scene is “omg i can’t believe she’s being so mean” like… have we not all been seeing her anger and resentment steadily brewing? this was a long time coming. i also saw comments that said “she’s being mean to make it easier for them to let her go” and “this should definitely help make it easier for them to stop caring for her” as if her anger isn’t totally valid. it also implies she should be responsible for relieving loustat’s guilt 😵💫

Why does this show feel like some people are just uncovering the concept of unreliable narrators. Nothing you’re shown is an objective truth. They’re how the character remembers it/tells it.

People seem to really want such clean lines on their characters. They’re all complicated. Love. Hate. Mistakes. Selfishness. This show is a beautiful kaleidoscope of messy emotions that speak so much truth. But you can’t fit it into every box. That being said, I need them to call Madeleine and Claudia back with that dress. I bet Merrick could do it. She saw Madeline when she first touched the yellow dress.

they deserved her lashing but I think they've also forgotten she hates and loves them in equal measure. Also I believe Claudia manipulated Louis into believing that's what lestat I also believe lestat in that that's not what he said lol.

im kind of tired of not actually being able to concretely believe anything, literally anything, that is happening as the true version of events, they have made everyone liars, where nothing can be trusted as they're just going to later change what apparently happened anyway. I feel like i may as well not emotionally invest as it will probably end up being a lie and it keeps being the case
