When an asset has been suppressed for a long time, it becomes incredibly hard to sell. You become emotionally attached because of the time you’ve spent holding it. The sunk cost fallacy kicks in, and watching other assets outperform somehow makes it even harder to let go. Price action is the only real form of truth. It tells you where capital is actually flowing, not where you hope it will flow.
