The leasing office wouldn't have released the information, if they did then you'd have a lawsuit. If they approached you at your car all you had to do was say that there was no car when you parked.

$700 is crazy to get your car back. They might have had unpaid parking tickets…. Otherwise it’s usually between 400-450.

For all intents and purposes, that is your driveway. No one would think twice about getting a strange vehicle in the driveway of their home towed. You pay money for the pavement marked by those lines. You tried to be nice by letting them know it was towed. Those people deserve the $700 fee and then some by being so ignorant, first by parking in your space and then by making their racist comments.
