@smooresdoor: If you have extra space in your classroom you can try creating a small section in your classroom to help students regulate their emotions when needed. That’s the power of a calm-down corner. 💛 I keep mine very simple and love that it’s next to a window. I teach how to use it and it’s purpose at the beginning of the year. Students do need to ask for permission and I found that it really works for me and my students. 🤍 #TeacherTok #SEL #ClassroomIdeas #ElementaryTeacher #TeacherTips
I honestly think, and don't hate me, that these corners don't work

A little bin with fidgets, calming cards, or a poster with different calming strategies, breathing ball, a whiteboard and colored markers where students could scribble. “I spy” books.

I have a bin with 2 different texture bath rugs, a few fidgets, a weighted strawberry, a wipeable pillow and a timer. On the wall I have a feelings poster. Its simple and has worked for the purpose intended.
