I think yes and growth…we are told to be ourselves, be honest, and then when we do, if it falls into a void, what we have to say fails to make a difference to anyone but us so what makes it different from journaling? You might have “a chance” at your journal becoming more public but if you take the chance on yourself, and it doesn’t, it doesn’t make it worth it because you still ended up doing it only for you when you wanted to share it. Some things are meant to be just for you and that makes it special and intimate. Other things are meant to be shared with others to invite people in. If nobody shows up, that isn’t motivating.

Great piece by the way. I want to say that I use social media as a journaling tool so I have this burner account that I don't let anyone from my real life in. I put the stuff that I would put in a journal because journaling is a bit time-consuming. Maybe I'm being lazy but yeah definitely for self-therapy as well
