@whatsthemediaai: Richland Parish, We're Growing! 🎉 Today, we're thrilled to announce the expansion of the Richland Parish Data Center to 5 gigawatts of compute capacity. This expansion represents an investment of more than $50 billion in the Richland Parish region, supporting over 7,500 construction jobs at peak and 1,000 operational roles once completed. 💼 Investing in Local Jobs & Workforce We're proud to announce $5 million in support for Louisiana Delta Community College — the largest gift in the college's history. This funding will create scholarships to train local residents for critical data center roles, and every Richland Parish high school graduate beginning with the class of 2026 will be eligible for full scholarships in data center trades. Since breaking ground in December 2024, we've contracted more than $1.6 billion with Louisiana businesses. We've worked closely with our general contractors — DPR Construction, Turner Construction Company, and Mortenson — to hire locally and invest in workforce training. Beginning today we're making Source Louisiana the default platform for companies looking to work at the site, giving more Louisiana businesses the opportunity to be a part of this project: https://www.opportunitylouisiana.gov/source-louisiana 🤝 Supporting Our Community This year, teachers in Richland Parish received yearly bonus checks that were 400% higher than last year — a direct result of increased tax revenues from our project. We're also contributing more than $1 billion to help improve local roads, water, and wastewater infrastructure. Through direct giving and our Data Center Community Action Grants, we've supported every public school in Richland Parish and organizations across Northeast Louisiana — from the Northeast Louisiana Children's Museum to Cool Kids Inc.. Alongside Richland Parish Chamber of Commerce and Monroe Chamber of Commerce, we provide no-cost digital skills training to help local small businesses reach new customers and grow. 🌱 Building Responsibly We work closely with Entergy Louisiana to plan for and meet our energy needs — and ensure we pay for the energy and infrastructure we use so it doesn't impact the community. Our agreements with Entergy are expected to deliver approximately $2.65 billion in savings to Entergy Louisiana customers over 20 years. Additionally, we're contributing $215 million to Entergy's Power to Care and residential energy efficiency programs to support families who need it most. We will match 100% of the Richland Parish Data Center's energy use with clean and renewable energy. When it comes to water, we prioritize stewardship and have the global goal to be water positive in 2030, meaning we’ll restore more water than we consume in the watersheds in which we operate. Through more than $17 million investment in water restoration projects in Louisiana, over 1 billion gallons of water per year will be restored to local watersheds. Meta pays the full costs of water and wastewater service and is partnering with the City of Delhi to fund utility upgrades and a new industrial wastewater treatment plant. 💙 Thank You, Richland Parish We couldn't be prouder to call Louisiana home. Thank you to Governor Jeff Landry, our partners at Entergy Louisiana, DPR Construction, Turner Construction Company, Mortenson, Louisiana Delta Community College, Louisiana Economic Development, the Monroe and Richland Parish Chambers of Commerce, and all of our community partners for their continued support.
