as a man, i've had consent rescinded, and while i was bummed out, I accepted it, did some stretches to simmer down, and headed home. I've also rescinded consent myself as well

In my experience with both men and women more often than not rescinding consent worked out with men while women dismissed me and continued

Here is the reality of how that would go. Most men would say “ok fine” and then suddenly have amnesia 5 min later and try again. Or they’ll use shame tactics like “I guess you’re not attracted to me”. Or throw tantrums about how you hate them. You just don’t know this Cuz you’ve never rescinded consent.

I had a woman rescind consent. I respected it and we stopped. Cele820 years of marriage next month. It's not a problem to stop if your partner isn't into it.

there's all of these studies about men not being aware that what they've done is not good. and it feels like people will take those as "men are bad" because they admit to it. rather than a "we need to educate better" so Men know not to do that stuff

If i was mid-act with a woman and she said "stop", the firet thing im doing is stopping and pulling out. The SECOND thing im doing is at least putting my underpants back on. Then im going to communicate with her and ask her if she needs help getting her clothes back on. Not because i want an excuse to touch her or her clothes. But because shes communicated shes not comfortable anymore. And i would assume (possibly incorrectly) that the sooner we get her clothes back on, the more comfortable she can be. Im ok if she verbally refuses help or pushes me away. My intention would be just to show her that i understand we are done with the act. And also that im in no way disappointed thay she asked me to stop and respect her.

Yes! We are not mind readers and most of us want way more than consent, enthusiastic participation is far and away the most common desire. Sex can be so awkward and unique with each person and non verbal signals are not universal. For instance, I had a partner who would push on my chest to get better leverage and I kept taking that as a nonverbal stop and she would get really pissed at me for backing off. So! Say something! Verbal communication is the gold standard!

So much of the pink pill dating content is about punishing men who respected a woman’s lack of consent or disrespecting a man’s refusal to consent in everyday non-sexual situations. How often do you hear a woman complain that “he should have known” or “if he loved me he would” or “I would have told him if he had kept asking”? These are low risk situations but it reinforces the behavior.

Even some of the less scrupulous men would do this even if they weren’t perfect saints because they don’t want potential legal troubles. Like, one of the dudes in my high school class was honestly a piece of shit, call him S. He never harassed women though, and the girls he briefly dated said he was avoidant, mostly distant and dismissive, could be manipulative but was never physically violent or domineering. I remember once one of the newer dudes in class was trying to fit in and “be cool” so was saying some mad aggressive and misogynistic stuff. Then S heard and essentially rebuked him, but by saying “don’t be an amateur, quickest way to get locked up is to piss of a woman who knows shit about you”. So yeah, still a POS but not 🍇ist out of sheer logical principal. Like I’m not saying people who assault women aren’t still a dime a dozen, but you can find just as many shitty men who won’t do that cuz they don’t want legal trouble than the shitty men who don’t have that impulse control and act on horrible, heinous thoughts and urges.

I had to have this conversation early on with my now wife. Due to poor experiences with exes she was afraid to tell me no when I initiated. Now five years later I turned her into a bad bitch who isn’t afraid to shut me down when she’s not in the mood 😂

So…you can consent implicitly but have to rescind consent explicitly. You can also change your mind before the deed even begins: you can invite someone over, which may imply sex is on the table, but then decide, while he is in your house, that you don’t want to fuck after all. He has no grievance in that case, and should accept the change of mind with grace. A good rule of thumb for men is to get explicit consent. Of course at any time, for any reason and certainly if your partner initiates something different from what you initially consented to, you can call a halt to the proceedings. To ignore such a refusal is SA. To bitch and moan if the partner changes their mind once you’re in the house, but before sex has started, isn’t SA but it’s still weirdly coercive and disrespectful of the man.

I think straight women feel embarrassed by their wants instead of taking pride in it and that's like the miscommunication here

I’m of the generation that was raised with this concept. If a woman isn’t suitably enthusiastic and participating, the experience grinds to a halt.

this whole situation has shown two things. first is that people just use buzzwords (coercion, ultimatum, etc.) without actually knowing what they mean. the second is that men are damned if they do and damned if they don't. the voice memo guy was a bit blunt but its the exact clear communication and lack of time wasting I see SO MANY women saying they want men to do only to crucify this man for doing exactly that.

As a side note, there’s also women who like to play the game where they say no then they say yes then they say no again then they turned around and say yes again. Which puts men in a difficult position. I advise if a girl is doing this just leave her alone all together
