Most vet offices if you call them and explain the situation, they will advise you on whether or not you need to go to the emergency hospital for free. Hell, you can do that with most emergency hospitals

I had a 15lb terrier eat 1 lb of Hershey kisses and he was fine. Foil and all. Lived 15 years after the incident.

my cat once ate 4 chocolate mini donuts .. i freaked out at first then called my vet .. they recommended calling pet poison control so i called and paid the fee .. they calculated how much chocolate he had eaten wasn’t harmful based on his weight and age and i wasn’t out hundreds of dollars .. they have actual vets that are on call to help (the fee pays them as normal poison control is paid for by taxes)

People need to educate themselves on chocolate and how much and what type are toxic to dogs . It’s not as toxic as you think in most cases. Especially one chocolate chip

grapes/ raisins are way more toxic to dogs. chocolate is bad sure but way more people need to understand that a little chocolate is fine by accident most likely... but ONE GRAPE is an actual medical emergency.
