A lot of you have been commenting on Prospuh’s fees, so I decided to break down what I actually paid when I tested the platform with my own money. 🇧🇸📱 I deposited $300, which came with a 6.5% processing fee, or $19.50. That meant my card was charged $319.50 to place $300 into the account. When I bought one share of NVIDIA, Prospuh charged a $5 trading commission. When I later sold the share, there was another $5 commission. So in my test, I paid $29.50 in explicit fees across the deposit, purchase and sale, before considering any withdrawal fee or movement in the stock price. The key point is that fees do not affect everyone the same way. A flat $5 trade fee represents a much larger percentage of a small investment than it does of a larger one. So rather than simply asking whether the fees are “high,” I think the better question is whether the cost, convenience and access to international investments make sense for the way you plan to invest. I am still getting clarification on the withdrawal fee, so I’ll cover that separately once I can confirm exactly how it works.
