I actually agree with part of this. Eusébio absolutely deserves more recognition and he was one of the players who first put Portuguese football on the world stage. Without legends like Eusébio, Figo and others, Portugal wouldn’t have the football history it has today. Where I disagree is saying the main reason people talk about Ronaldo more is because Eusébio was black. Ronaldo is discussed more because he played in the modern era, played for over 20 years, broke countless records and millions of fans actually watched him live. That doesn’t take anything away from Eusébio’s greatness. In my opinion, Eusébio helped put Portuguese football on the map, while Ronaldo took Portuguese football to another level for a new generation. Both can be true at the same time. 🤝
