I think as a doctor in Nigeria I will make more money if I just open a TikTok page and start telling all the stories from the things I see in a Nigerian hospital

Their governor will rather sponsor the wedding of random poor people without tests, sponsor pilgrimages to mecca than finance health.

He’s even talking about seeing the Doctor by 10 am. It’s very difficult to even see a doctor by that. From Experience if you are not in the hospital by 6 am to get your name in a list they will use for that day for you to see the doctor just forget about it. Been there, experienced it. I wake up as early as 5 am so I can get to the hospital by 6 am just to get your name on the list. The possibilities of you even seeing the doctor eventually is by God grace. Very sad 🥹🥲

He’s not even exaggerating. My mum was treating a woman with 5 sickle cell children some years ago. One of the children already has a deformity.

The health insurance companies do not understand sickle cell disorder,
Hence, they do not provide health insurance coverage for sickle cell warriors.
Sickle cell disorder is a chronic disease like diabetes, asthma, etc.
So, if health insurance covers other chronic diseases,
It should also cover sickle cell disorder.

@stanbest02: Even in the midst of this shortage of doctors, some Nigerian foreign trained medical doctors who opted to come back and practice here in Nigeria, the Nigerian government through the MDCN has imposed an induction fee of over 400000 thousand Naira before the could be inducted and allowed to practice in Nigeria forcing some of them back to the country where they trained
