Correct me if im wrong, based from chinese novels I've read, a man in ancient era, if he's an official/noble & he got married, he may have a official wife (depending on who he wants to be his official wife/official consort OR if his parents may get involve, they may choose who they want to be his legal wife/official consort...same with concubines)..only 1 can be an official wife/consort..he can have as many concubines if he wants to (as long as he can afford it). Only royalties (esp the Emperor) can have the noble titles on their wives such as 'empress' title, 'noble consort', 'consort', 'royal concubine', just 'concubine', & 'fei' I havent started watching this series bt this clips makes me curious on there noble titles especially the ML.. & FL's origin 🤔 I havent read any
