@interestingengineering: PNDbotics has showcased its full-size Adam humanoid climbing onto a 1-meter-high box — billed as a first for a full-size humanoid robot. The box stands at more than half of Adam's own height (~1.6 m, ~60 kg), making the climb a brutal test of single-leg balance, joint torque, and whole-body coordination — what the company calls 'the ultimate test of full-body, multi-joint coordination and core strength.' The feat is powered by forcecontrolled quasi-direct-drive actuators with up to 340 Nm of leg-joint torque and AI motion policies trained in simulation. Earlier published research showed Adam climbing 75 cm boxes; this year the robot has also navigated real outdoor stairs untethered. #PNDbotics #Adam #HumanoidRobots #Robotics
