I hope he absolutely wins. That detainment was overly aggressive as you would see with a felony stop, ramming the car for a car theft is excessive and surely not in protocol. I hope he collects.

Typically police don't just slam into a stolen car unless they are evading. So it is assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, false arrest. 200k is not enough.

he was jammed in the back. I would sue the cop for battery by vehicle. Go after his bond. He acted outside procedures and intentionally injured a person who was not evading. The police and the officer would be named separately in the personal injury lawsuits
