My son passed away 3 months ago due to complications from the TBI he got while riding an e-scooter 3 years ago. He worked so hard to learn to walk, talk, socialize, all the things again. I thought we were in the clear… and then he was gone. I do not wish this pain on any parent. Please make your children wear motorcycle grade helmets if they are riding electric scooters or bikes. Please.

There are kids on ebikes FLYING without helmets on residential streets that are 35 mph!!! No plates. No license. WTF is going on!!! Ive had them fly through lights and stop signs. I'm so afraid I'm going to someone!!!

College campus nurse here-it’s not just small kids either. We see at least 5 serious accidents from e-bikes or electric scooter every single week. Several fatal last year, all 18-22

It’s not the e-bike that’s dangerous it’s parents not teaching their children how to ride and be safe. It’s like anything else ( skateboard, bike, and /or rollerblades )

Exactly! Too many parents don't understand that e-bikes are essentially electric motorcycles. If you need to have a driver's license to ride a motorcycle, you should be required to have a DL to ride an e-bike!

My husband bought an e scooter for our son and I make them return it. It caused a big disagreement between my husband and I and my children and I, but I do not regret my decision to keep them safe.

Get your child an ebike. Just BE A PRESENT PARENT AND TEACH THEM TO RIDE SAFELY. So many parents give their kid one that goes 42mph amd say "good luck", not realizing its not some cheap razor scooter from walmart.
