The reason John was very disappointed was because he wanted the Sun Sessions version of Elvis, the rockabilly rebel and the version he met was the Elvis who was making boring, formulaic movies with shitty soundtracks.

The story I heard was they both sat there in stunned silence until Elvis said “well, one of us has gotta talk first”. I have heard stories from regular folks that met Elvis, all accounts say he was the most down to earth person and so kind.

I met Mick Jagger in 1978. He sat directly behind me at a concert by the Jam at CBGBs 2nd Ave Theater. He seemed just like Mick Jagger.🤣
