Pops just turned 79, beat cancer last May. Doctors told him the fact that he still lifts weights at his age was and his a big factor to why and how his body over came the cancer.

I see both sides of this. People in there 80’s who put the work in are light years away from people who don’t. It’s not fun to watch people in their 60’s just fall apart when all they have to do is move! I’m not the smartest person in the world but I’m not doing that!

And one thing worth mentioning; it's NEVER too late to start. Many people in their 40s or 50s just give up and think that lifting is only for young people and that they should've started sooner, but there's evidence that even when starting in your 60s, 70s, or even older, lifting STILL benefits you.

My dad is 93. He just injured himself because he didn’t completely stop the treadmill he was RUNNING on before lifting. So now he just walks to the gym and lifts

I was on blood pressure meds and decided it was time for a change. After a few months at the gym my Dr said I no longer needed them. I’m 60 and feeling better than I did in my 40’s. Exercise is absolutely vital.

Damn, I think that actually convinced me to be more consistent with weight training. I'm in my 40s and I can feel the effects of muscle loss and it doesn't feel good.

69 year old weight lifter and bicycle rider. Recently walked away from what might have been a serious bike accident. Having substantial amounts of muscle helped to absorb the impact and to keep all my body parts in the right places.
