You read with the child (they become responsive, point, make sounds or say words, etc) 3. The child reads with you (they want to read and you participate following their lead. Example in my latest video before this) 4. The child reads independently Lv. 1 (first recalling the words from memory) 5. The child reads independently Lv. 2 (they can decode new words entirely on their own with comprehension) Note: all five steps continue to happen simultaneously, interchangebly.
