I was the therapist growing up for my mom and everyone walked on eggshells for my dad’s moods; I married an army guy to get out and he ended up going to prison for cp and we divorced. I have decided to just end the cycle and I’ve been celibate for a couple yr now.

it makes sense to me, if my whole life I've been conditioned to accept people crossing my boundaries whether that be emotionally, sexually, physically, etc. it makes sense that one day someone came along and took advantage of that

We accept the love we think we deserve, and when you haven’t been taught you deserve much, you don’t know to ask for it.

This hits so close to home for me. My first partner abused me constantly when I first left my house. I'm still repairing my life and mental health from what they did to me sexually, physically, emotionally, and financially.

As someone who was Sa'ed, I hate that we have to go through it all again, until we are able to find healthy relationships.

I grew up around emotionally abusive women and a mom who neglected I existed and it's no surprise to me that 99% of my female friendships have been with abusive girls who, at minimum, made me feel like I needed to work nonstop to "earn" friendship, accept the bare minimum, accept that I "deserved" to be ditched and mistreated, etc. once I accepted that abuse could happen outside romantic relationships it was clear as day how I ended up in those.
