@evidence_sello: In this video, I share 5 ways that I’m going to be cutting down my expenses every month while I’m looking for a job. I’ve been unemployed for about 4 months now with no form of income for the past 3 months apart from the UIF payout last week. I’m keen to hear how you guys are cutting down some expenses in your own lives and some advice would be highly appreciated. #unemployment #southafrica #jobseeker #expenses #Budgeting
The comments are so weird. This man is talking about HIS finances. He could afford all of these things. He was not crazy 😭 the reason you know his finances is because of him being unemployed currently. So now you guys are looking at his expenses in comparison to your life or salary that is crazy if you ask me.

Gym membership. I would suggest opening an account with discovery and activate vitality premium and you will pay only R345 I think for gym, and it will cover your cinema movies ad well

Gym cut and rather run ✅ in bulk can be expensive rather target sale ✅ recreate restaurant meals at home ✅ cancel gym for paddle ✅ Movies cut ✅ use the money towards Edgar’s account account ✅ stop buying clothes ✅

Have a vege and herb garden, start cooking more, move to a smaller place, sell most of the staff you don't need.

For bulk buying try and do so for cleaning products and non-perishable food items so that your monthly groceries only contain on average fruits and veggies as well as meat products and other fresh items . All the best abuti

The accounts. Check if you do not have unemployment cover maybe you were paying… that can cover the debt. Maybe replace paddle with an inexpensive hobby like walking/running

I'm cutting down by cooking more, instead of ordering takeout. I only order around once a week, if at all.
I've limited my bank accounts to just a transactional and a savings, plus a "joint" account for household expenses (this reduces monthly charges). Paid my gym membership once-off and now paying myself back monthly for that. Lastly, life is really expensive right now so don't be too hard on yourself.. thankfully you had the foresight to save money.

All the best with job hunting and kudos for cutting down on those expenses. If you don't mind me asking did you have an emergency fund since it seems you only cutting your expenses on the 4th month of being unemployed. I take it you still managed to cover your expenses the last 3 months. Only if you are okay with sharing that part of your life with us. I just found your page by the way.
