There’s a certain mythology around touring DJs that assumes groupies, parties, and drugs are all part of the job description. But Diplo is intent on changing that narrative. The Grammy Award–winning producer points out that performing a high-energy set in Vegas at 3 in the morning is his job—and that he put in the work. In fact, he maintains his punishing schedule by approaching health and fitness like an elite athlete. His Malibu home includes a cold plunge, sauna, hyperbaric chamber, and even an altitude chamber large enough to fit his Peloton so he can simulate riding at 10,000 feet. But his daily routine is mostly about the basics: a mix of running, yoga, swimming, and functional training. “Small movements,” he says, “getting my hamstrings open, a little bit of chest and bodyweight, but it’s mostly animal-style calisthenics.” At 47, Diplo is focused on longevity. In other words: keeping the party going. "What matters most is my health, my well-being," he says.
