The movie doesn’t undo Violet’s development because her development was never tied to Gilbert’s death in the first place. Violet’s character arc throughout the first season was not to come to terms with Gilbert’s death or to learn to live without him. Violet’s journey in the first season was to learn how to “live freely,” to be more than a tool that followed orders, to “learn what ‘I love you’ means”. By the end of series she had already grown into her own her own person. Gilbert’s return again does not undo that development. Choosing to be with him was her OWN decision, made NOT out of dependence, but because it was her heart’s fondest wish.

This was always the endgame as well as the fact she is an adult they are not parent or child she was a soldier and a killer who discovered she wasn’t a monster but human with feelings but yes she should give up on what she discovered through out the entire show because of what your classification of “incest” or “pedophilia” which this isn’t either, yes it’s on the edge but he never groomed her or forced any sort of sexuality on their relationship, both broken souls fixed by each other in different ways this show will always be unforgettable and top Tier. Rant over.

I can not tell you how happy I was she finally found him. And most importantly she found herself too. I remember watching a horrible copy of this movie in sub cause I was soo desperate so worth it thooo 😭❤️
