You are right, the titanic sank in 1912. There was no equality then. Women at that time were not allowed to vote at all, no requirement for equal pay, marital rape wasn’t a crime, were not considered equal parents (men had rights over children not women), divorce her husband even if he cheated on her, etc. Women were treated as property not equal people their entire lives.

Okay and let’s not forget the significant difference in number of men to women on the titanic 🙏🏻 so obviously showing percentage difference seems drastically unequal however if you compare the 19% of the 1690 men to the 73% of 466 women it’s not as significant as you make it out to be when in reality there was roughly a 20 people difference so

Fun fact, it was one of the few such cases because the captain believed in "ladies and children first" and told the crew to follow it because in most cases the guys didn't give a damn about this rule and only looked out for themselves

The reason why the men died is cause the patriarchy deemed women weak by nature but also valuable objects for child rearing compared to the men who had to work, so they made it a rule and custom that women and children get saved first. Men died because of patriarchy.
