Some parents get jealous of their children’s success and opportunities so they purposefully make you feel bad about yourself in hopes that you fail and come crawling back to them for support. Especially true if your parents didn’t do as well in school/didn’t attend post-secondary or they have a narcissistic/insecurity problem of sorts.

This won't make it better but it may help you understand, they probably also complain because they see you do all these things outside and feel like you could use that energy inside the house. Definitely not your fault and it is shitty that parents think like this, but some of them genuinely believe that your time and energy should go to be their personal maids because "that's the least you can do". They are selfish and that's not your fault
