There are so many coins around 😭😭 you can buy so many in auctions, find them on the beach. It’s a bit different from actual jewelry. That said, no hate on neither woman.

ngl to me it all feels so performative 😒 they care more about the damn 3000yo iranian gold than the actual iranians being 🚀 rn. they say its "in poor taste" but imo caring more about perception/optics/taste in a time of actual war when you could care about living people your govt is actively harming kinda misses the mark. im an anthro/history B.A. and when i saw that vid i literally rolled my eyes. it was giving the same energy as pro-life protestors. they dgaf about life at all. they use it as a rallying cry to clean up what they really care about/want to say. so yeah its just racism fr. antiquities/historical communuties are rife with it.

Roman coins being repurposed into jewelry is incredibly common because of how many of them there are. I have Roman coin jewelry. Should she wear them? Probably not. Do they hold the same weight and impact of the Persian earrings taken from a war zone? No.

I do not believe that the Roman coin was looted from another country. Bulgari is an Italian brand, and that coin is very common in Italy. I don’t think it’s the same thing.

The question isn’t about whether they are genuine artifacts, it’s about the provenance, the story about how it came to be in their possession. Ancient coin jewelry is common and not likely from a controversial source. The Iranian pieces were stolen.
