By 2024, Toronto Police Service and Peel Regional Police tracing data reported that 88% to 90% of seized crime firearms originated in the U.S. So yes, the firearm ban is working. By removing them from legal owners they cannot be stolen and used in crimes which is how the majority of illegal guns end up in circulation from Canadians.

It doesn’t matter if they’re legal gun owners or not. People shouldn’t have guns regardless. More access to guns will inevitably lead to more guns in the wrong persons hand.
