Terrible take imo? just a waste of art/time/points for your team. Some people only reply to friends/people they know or can be scared to reply for no reason. Someone you don’t know can give you a gift but then are you obligated to hug them? Idk man. Just seems petty but thats just me

I dunno man, this may be a hot take. Yknow, like how you didn't HAVE to attack them, they don't have to respond back to you, it's sort of life. Plus, I've had people who haven't responded to my attacks, and later came back to revenge me. People do that. plus it's only the 14th so. Idk, good luck with your Artfight!

All excellent points here about people being busy, not knowing what to comment etc. But the main point is that if you give a gift with expectations on how that person should receive it then it’s no longer a gift. The point of gifting is for your own satisfaction. Not putting expectations on others to reciprocate in any way even emotionally. Once the gift leaves your hands it’s not something to expect (emotional) compensation for! And this is a gifting game, not a trading game. Obviously you intend for the gift to be liked, but the reason for gifting in the first place is for your own satisfaction. And to suddenly take a gift away because of their reaction or lack of shows that it had strings attached. Just be happy because you know you were generous!

some people need weeks to reply 😭 i've had people respond after artfight ends, or very late into it. Once i put a bunch of effort into an attack for someone who didn't respond for weeks until they attacked me back with what's now one of my favorite drawings of my characters + a long and enthusiastic reply to the attack i made for them. Give ppl time lol

Idk that seems kinda petty? A lot of people have lives outside of art fight so they aren’t going to instantly respond. Or they could have has something happened that prevented them from commenting. I had one person I attacked comment on it over a year later because their original comment didn’t post. I’ve also had multiple people that quit artfight early and responded the next year. Even though I think that thanking someone for attacking you is the respectful and right thing to do I also think it’s wrong to only attack people to receive praise.

I understand the people who disagree with this take, but in my personal opinion, if you wait at least a full week and get zero acknowledgement (especially when others are being acknowledged after you), then I think deleting it is fine. if you don't have basic manners and can't even comment a "tysm!" then you don't deserve to be attacked.

You are obviously welcome to do what you like ((genuinely))! But I know some artists get overwhelmed with commenting and wait to do it over the last week/ at the end :) I know in the past it’s sometimes taken me a week+ to respond! Some people also finish the revenge before commenting/ use that as a space to comment :)

I get the feelings behind wanting to do this but I’d recommend waiting it out a while first! This year my bf got a comment on an attack he did LAST year saying they forgot to leave one or some such but that they loved the drawing and were sorry about not commenting. It’s really a “feel it out” type of thing… some people probably deserve the attack deleted cause they’re ungrateful but there’s some that coulda made an honest mistake too!

reminder that some people can't comment due to the age they have in their accounts. I've encountered some people that need their friends to comment for them / use revenge as a way to thank me for the attack instead of commenting

not the best idea. People might just be busy or appreciate your art in silence. some people aren't very vocal about it. I do agree saying thank you should be the bare minimum but I suggest to wait until they see your attack. and even if they don't comment, deleting the attack will just makes you look petty. (its not good tor grow that mindset either even if you aren't obligated to keep that attack up) and I'm reading comments saying just delete the attack after art fight, you can't actually 😭 they lock that feature until forever. you can only delete ongoing and current attacks. that also means attacks from last year and before also cannot be deleted. your feelings are valid to feel the way you are, but don't let it get the best of you 🥹 or use it as a reason to continue your negative emotions
