@marly_lajan.an.fe.deyes: My sweet sweet boy . People see a smiling baby, but they don’t see the fight it took to get here. My son was born at just 22 weeks, weighing only 15 ounces. Doctors weren’t sure if he’d make it. He spent months in the NICU connected to breathing machines, tubes, IVs, monitors, and more prayers than I can count. There were days I left the hospital crying, nights I slept in my car just to stay close to him, and mornings I woke up not knowing what the next phone call would bring. We celebrated every ounce he gained, every machine he came off of, every tiny milestone most parents never have to think about. Today he’s here, and I’ll never stop thanking God for that miracle.
