And they don’t even know how bad it is. The Germans, I mean. And it’s hellish for us, who’ve seen how things can be. What angers me the most with German doctors is that they don’t even *try*. And they give up!!! Like you said “oh well I don’t know then”. 🤯

100% believe you, German doctors are useless when you're chronically ill 😭 they just wanna get you out and get to the next person asap

Several doctors told me, “It’s probably because of all the sports you do have you considered stopping?” or, “You’re too young for that. Come back when you’re 60.”

it took us fleeing our country and living abroad for a couple of years to realise that "good European healthcare" (meaning central and western Europe) is a myth😆 and not only human healthcare, but veterinary as well

I'm Polish and nobody has diagnosed me with POTS yet. "Are you sure medical science can help you?" - actual quote. I'm currently between health insurances here in the Netherlands and am wondering if it'll get better or worse in paracetamol-land.

Girl, I live in the Kaiserslautern area and had AT LEAST that many doctors tell me they couldn't help my breathing, and that I breathe perfectly fine, and there's nothing they can do to surgically treat my upper airway resistance syndrome. Went to München (literally 5 hours one way), and she immediately said Oh yes, both jaws are the problem. I can easily fix this with surgery that has virtually no downtime, and TK will also pay for the orthodontics that support this surgery. She also said she wasn't at all surprised I couldn't find help in my area. (I love the professional shade!) It took researching the hell out of my problem, and who were specialists in that area, all over Germany.

yep german healthcare is in a horrible state, not talked enough. doctors treat patients like a number, need to get as many patients in as little time as possible... need to be a private patient to get decent help and care

obgyn in Germany lost my tests and they just ghosted me :) every time i called they just said they couldn’t find it and therefore didn’t know the results. when i went to another doc asking for the same test, they said that since i’ve done it already in the last 3 months, they can’t do it cause of some insurance issues 🙃 got diagnosed and prescribed medication within 4 days in Ukraine!

Two dentists in Berlin gaslit me into believing that I was paranoid and made me get new plasma filling (out of pocket options, only half was covered by the insurance). It went on for a year of me not being able to chew with left side. At one point I had extreme pain enough to alter the shape of my face and I visited third dentist from my University town where I found out there was a root canal problem and dead tissue in the root or something. Anyway the third dentist operated three time on me within a week and directed me to another dentist to do a major surgery.

our dog had a hernia trap a part of her gut and the latter was actively going into literal NECROSIS and she was actively dying, and we got rejected at 10+ vetclinics SPECIALIZING in SURGERY because "the doctor isn't here" "we are full". our friend's son woke up with insane back pain and couldn't lie down, walk or seat, and they gave in an appointment in TWO WEEKS. i will never shut up about german healthcare

You only realize how bad German doctors handle their patients after going to a doctor outside of Germany. I have been struggling with skin issues like rashes or itchy skin that would result into an open wound from scratching. They would just prescribe me cortisone creams that would make it go away for 3 weeks and they it would come back. When I went to doctors here in France it was discovered, that I had a serious liver problem and that those skin issues were just the symptoms of that.

What’s even more baffling about all this is the amount of effort and learning it takes to become a doctor here, sometimes I come to a doctor and afterwards can’t stop wondering how that person even got their Abi not to mention their diploma. It seems people mostly care about the prestige of the medical profession here

I have lived in Poland for 4 years now and doctors have never told me my diagnosis (except the times when I almost begged them to say it) just prescribed medication which doesn't help at all

We have the best doctors here. Yeah, some services are better in private hospitals, but overall, they're pretty good. My friends shared similar horror stories from abroad.

German healthcare essentially only works for strokes, heart attacks, cancer, accidents and a few others. Chronic problems will always be a fucking shitshow.
