The convo with Polyphemus is the crux of the entire story. It is why Poseidon torments him. It is what shows us O is a liar, both to the cyclopes and about them to the Phaeacians. What’s the point if you cut that?!?!

when I said Christopher Nolan didn't respect the Greek culture people said I was nitpicking. but you could just tell by set design and costuming that he did not care to actually learn about what the story was. the fact that there was no color in ancient Greece from the trailer was a dead giveaway that he did not understand anything or care to

Calypso got the whole mini monologue in the book about how the gods treated women, bet that isn’t in there 😭 Nobody is so ICONIC 😭 and Penelope being like cunning was fav part of the book😭 I was so excited for the mythology part, as a mythology nerd😭😭

It sound idk almost gentrified, like so many characters and core prices are missing, and not cuz they couldn’t, cuz clearly they could’ve made gods and women’s stories gorgeous, but cuz they idk like you said, they must’ve wanted a war movie instead of the mythological epic the odyssey is
