UTRGV in Texas is more affordable than most universities. I was in the advanced program for my MSW and paid about $11,000 total.

Unpopular opinion but grad students should get more Aid than undergrad 🤷🏽‍♀️do you know how many students fail classes within those first couple years and just was the $$ given to them. 10k spent and only earned 3 credits 🙄 give it to the people in Grad school! They did the work and proved that is where they wanna be.

Girl I have $130k in student loan debt because my family (middle class) didn’t have the money to support me through school but “made too much” for me to qualify for any student loan assistance. I had to basically take out 75k in private loans the rest are federal. I have worked all through school since I was 15 years old, and the debt weighs on me like crazy. I am about to start a debt payoff series here on TikTok in hopes a miracle happens for me like I’ve seen for others

People are missing the fact that they eliminated more than HALF of the pathways that qualify for professional degrees!! And LOWERED the borrowing amount for professional degrees that qualify. Meaning LESS lawyers, surgeons, etc. As someone currently entering law school, this process has been impacted GREATLY with notices on every financial loan portal and website detailing the impacts of the BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL. This is DIRECTLY due to the bill and this admin. Financial assistance USED to be the norm.

2 master degrees. First one worked as a TA so was paid for by university. Second masters, was paid by my employer and I took night and weekend classes. Both difficult paths but zero debt. When you want something there is a way.

I’m terrified because my plan was grad school and now I’m going to have a useless bachelors that I have to pay back loans for when I can’t get the job I wanted because I need grad school and can’t afford it

As someone finishing up my MBA, I’ve realized the majority of students are getting their school paid for through their job. Please don’t take out a loan for grad school was absolutely necessary. Give yourself time to work for a company and find somewhere who will pay for your schooling or at least help you substantially.

keep in mind my dad got a bachelor's in civil engineering in the 80s for $10,000 & his first job out paid $95,000. i got the same bachelor's in 2013 for $60,000 & first job out was a 3 month unpaid internship with "possibility" of landing a $80,000 job, then was told i should get a masters to raise my earning potential 🙃

Yep. Project 2025. You’re either wealthy and privileged enough to pay for the education, or you simply don’t matter. Welcome to the world republicans want! 😂

This is why it’s crucial to attend your local, in person, in state university. They are always better than online programs and they are likely the least expensive option. In person pubic unis often have more scholarship $$ too. Choose your school carefully

Most grad students are responsible for their own loans. This is the time to decide if you can make enough to offset the investment.
