I’m british kashmiri. my ancestors were from srinigar but moved around and settled in azad kashmir way before partition until some of us eventually moved to the uk. we developed a dialect based on the region we lived in. my ancestors may have spoken koshur but after living in ajk they developed pothwari/pahari to current days where most of us speak english bc we’ve been in the uk for over 40 years. the development of regional linguistics doesn’t change my dna!

We Kashmiris are meant to prioritize our culture and language first over Punjabi 😂 Respect to Punjabis and everyone who helped us but it doesn't mean we abandon our own values and start prioritizing theirs.

Lahore has the highest amount of ethnic Kashmiris outside of Kashmir valley even my dadi was Mir. Also Punjabi is not really an ethnicity it's an ethnolinguistic group which has people from all backgrounds- if you speak punjabi you can identify as one. eg., there are punjabis who are ethnically pashtun, ethnically kashmiri, etc.
