There are really only two reasons I don’t care about soccer. The offsides rule seems silly to me. If I’m faster than you and beat you then it should be up to you to be defensively smart and play in a way that doesn’t let me get behind you. But more than that, the flopping and constant holding of the leg is embarrassing. Grown men that are professional athletes should not be doing that. I know other sports have their fair share of embellishing but not near as much as soccer.

The thing football has over every other American sport is how every single goal counts. People celebrate every goal with feverish passion. Whereas in American football, basketball and baseball. People may cheer when their team scores, but it doesn’t have the same weight, the same importance. If you see people crying when their team gets scored on, you don’t see that in American sports until the final whistle in the final championship game. During the World Cup you see it in every single game, even from the tiniest of nations.
