In the full video I will have been filming stress tests and pushing Beni’s limits, so keep an eye out for that, 1. The starting distance for Beni from the subject will help determine how far Beni stays from the subject as it moves. Depending on the type of obstacle, this can make a big difference. Start Beni close and he will get tight shots, but also have less breathing room for big obstacles the skate might be skating on. Start Beni far and the skater will be more in the distance, but Beni will make bigger moves to avoid large obstructions. 2. On my action camera, when I don’t want to have to do a lot of reframing in post, I shoot using the built in stabilization in 16x9. It’s effective and fast, but also can miss some stuff if the skater is going off of ramps. In opengate mode, I have more resolution on the top and bottom of the image so I am less likely to miss the action, but it also takes some extra work during the editing process to dial in the framing and stabilization. 3. Beni actually makes a decent tripod when you need it to. This can be helpful when you want second angles, but don’t want to unmount your action camera to put on a separate rig. 4. Orbit mode is also quite useful if your subject is staying a similar space. It’s most useful in big open spaces. Hope that it useful!
