This is not true at all. Just because somebody is end of life, food and water doesn’t get removed from them. If they can drink and eat they still eat. They don’t get the drugs unless they need it. This is not ok to be lying like this.

Get real, patients with certain diseases are not treat the same way as a simple fix. See far too often patients with food left on plates, colostomy bags full, while a group of nurses stand around laughing and joking. Or left in a side room and forgotten and left to die alone. The NHS is not what it was or should be.

omg! I never knew this my dad had sepsis and I always wondered why they stopped his antibiotics and food/drinks etc like 5 days after he was admitted, they then wouldn't give him anything when he was dying and he was in so much pain! he did have the odds against him but I feel like they never even tried to help him.

It is not ok to lie like this! Food and water absolutely is not removed 😳 a dying body doesn't always want those things because if theres one thing a body knows how to do it's die, however nourishment is still offered. Active treatment is still offered if the family want it even if its futile. If your family member had terminal agitation you'd understand the anticipatory medications and their functions. I wish people would educate themselves first.

I’ve worked on end of life care and I know these people are at the end. No way back. But what we did to make there last moments so happy and comfortable for them and there families. She’s had a wrong doing but don’t slander every end of life care for the one wrong doing.
