#duet with @lookwhoshira we’ve got you covered 🤝
While working on our upcoming winter hijab collection, I found myself deeply reflecting on the history of the headscarf. Before Islam, women wore headscarves loosely—often showing parts of their hair, their necks, and accessorizing with earrings and necklaces. Then Islam came, and with it, the command to wear the hijab in a way that clearly defines modesty: covering the hair, neck, and chest, while leaving only the face visible. Allah says in Surah An-Nur, verse 31: “وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ” “…and they should not display their beauty…” What struck me is how closely today’s fashion trends—especially in so-called “modest fashion”—resemble the pre-Islamic style. Whether intentional or not, many brands and influencers are promoting a style of hijab that mirrors the way women dressed during Jahiliyyah, before the true guidance of Islam. Sadly, I see many young Muslim women adopting this version of the hijab, not realizing how far it has strayed from what Allah has asked of us. It’s not their fault entirely—they’re being misled by modern trends and a lack of clear Islamic education. So this is a heartfelt reminder to every sister who has ever questioned her hijab: Be confident. You are not wearing the hijab to follow trends, to fit in, or to please people. You are wearing it to obey Allah, to honor your faith, and to protect your dignity. They may try to confuse you. They may call you old-fashioned or extreme. But remember: every part of you is a jewel. And jewels are always more precious when they are protected and hidden from those who don’t deserve to see them.#modestfashion #ModestStyle #hijabistyle #abayagirls #abayastyle #summermusthaves #springoutfit #SlowFashion #muslimtiktok #hunnaboutique #abayafashion #
