I finally got on my following feed and here you are. I missed that video. So I went back and watched it and OMG it resonates. I am staying sat right here nodding because you are RIGHT. I feel so much of this as a white woman whose hippie parents joined the Mormon church when I was six. I finally broke free when I was 43 four years ago and led my whole ND family out. Been deconstructing every damn thing ever since. Including whiteness. And you’re right. There is no true community among autistic women. What held me down for too many years was trying to stick so damn hard to the rules I was taught were vital to my soul not dying a spiritual death that I couldn’t see. I didn’t even want the afterlife I was taught I’d get. I was stuck until I was willing to lose everything that ever made me who I was to get at the truth. And I honestly lost most of who I was for a time, to my ultimate betterment, thank the goddess or earth or anything that might be out there. But mostly my own desire for the truth, bc that is what truly set me free. But truth can be hella painful. And most autistic white women are used to pain, especially in the confines of the rigidness of their own lives, and don’t want to chance more. But we have got to be willing to risk discomfort of having been wrong to make things better. And saying a Black woman has privilege is NOT it. Thank you for saying it plainly. 🙏

I went and watched the video in question and instantly knew it wasn’t about me but still understood your message and I’m white, afab, audhd. This is not a flex- I’ve failed my allies before-i likely will again. This is a reality check and a call to action for the white women to ALWAYS… ALWAYS know you’ve been propagandized.
