I am by no means defending any of this. It’s all very horrible, but what I would like to point out in regards to the initial perspective he shared about Japan being futuristic and their population being kinder and more respectful than western societies, is that this is a perception that is only based on current times as a tourist when traveling to a country you are likely not judging it based on it’s former history, but rather the current state of that place, so when someone who’s not from Japan talks about how greatly they perceive the country, they’re not dismissing horrible atrocities that happened in the past rather they are speaking on their perception of the current state of the country under the context of being a tourist so I don’t think the way he introduced the video made much sense. I did find the video very informative though.

Thank you for your kindness. As a Chinese we really appreciate for what you doing. I understand this thing happened almost like 90 years ago and I can’t blame the current Japanese for this. However, we hope it teaches lesson for the future generation, not only to Japan but also to the whole mankind. War brings death and horrors, it’s every generations duty to try to keep it. Human makes mistakes but people need to learn from mistakes. Don’t do what Japan used to do.

This is why I have problems seeing Japanese fans waving the imperial flag during the World Cup. To put it in perspective this action is equivalent to Germans holding nazi flags on a global stage… also let’s not forget about the Korea peninsula (not only SK but also NK) fought bravely for Japan’s invasion. Part of the reason why, the division between NK and SK, historically speaking, is from Japan
