I was having a spinal fusion done and during surgery I had an unintentional tear in my dura. In order to reach the leak I had a laminectomy done so they could get to the tear and close up the leak. I’m grateful my surgeon was able to pivot, fix the issue and then carry on with the rest of the procedure.

In a 9 hour surgery, my son’s pediatric ct surgeon created a pericardial baffle extension for the coronary artery that was otherwise too short. He made a decision in the moment that literally saved my son’s life. He turns 15 in a couple weeks 🏆

What happens if you are on call and you have a super long case. Say you get called at like 10pm and it all just takes a long time and you’re done at like 6am. Are you ok still expected to then do a full day of work?
