One time me and my friends got stopped by a dude and this guy said that if my friend, a type 1 diabetic, went a MONTH without eating ANYTHING and not taking any meds or insulin, she’d get cured fully from diabetes. My guy doesn’t know what diabetes is and how it works😭 and he said that we should do that with every type of disease, even cancer😭😭

People trying to explain an illness to someone who has it while they themselves don't always spikes my adrenaline. I had a diabetic teacher in elementary school and that was enough for me to get the basics, which is to leave the person alone unless there's an emergency. I was 5. How can adults not come to that conclusion?
