@reflowerritual: My favorite things about making brooms/being a broom maker: Having an idea in my mind and bringing it to life, often pushing the boundaries of what I thought a broom could be. The meditative, trance-like state I slip into when I’m doing a repetitive step of the process such as weaving or stitching. My brain lets my hands take the lead and it feels so good to switch off for a bit. The closeness I feel to nature and the land through my craft. I work with primarily natural materials and take most of my inspiration from nature. Knowing that in our modern, fast-paced world, I’m practicing an ancient craft. It helps me feel more connected and human to know that my ancestors would be able to name the tool I’m creating with my own two hands.
