‼️Eating disorder awareness week I was never formally diagnosed with an eating disorder, but my relationship with food was far from healthy. I was a chronic dieter. Constantly chasing “leaner”, “smaller”, “healthier”. Always trying to shrink myself. Always believing I’d finally feel confident once I reached the next number. What nobody really talks about is how exhausting that mindset becomes. The restriction. The guilt. The mental noise around food. The cycles of being “good” followed by feeling completely out of control. I had binge eating episodes, not because I lacked discipline, but because my body was responding exactly how bodies do when they’re deprived, restricted, and constantly told certain foods are “bad”. Restriction creates obsession. Obsession fuels bingeing. Bingeing fuels guilt. And the cycle just keeps going. Looking back, I genuinely believed I was being “healthy”. In reality, I was just stuck in a pattern of fighting my own body. Healing my relationship with food didn’t happen overnight. It wasn’t a single breakthrough moment. It was slowly learning that food is not something to earn, fear, or compensate for. It was letting go of the idea that my worth was tied to how little space I could take up. If this resonates with you in any way, please know you’re not alone, and more importantly, there is a way out of that constant mental battle🤍 Your body is not the enemy.
