I’ve been getting paid on the wrong increment for the whole of the last school year (3 instead of 6). It has been 50 WEEKS since payroll acknowledged that it needs to be changed and that they received my application form. I rang again last week and they said it’s the “busiest time of year” and it “should” get sorted in the next MONTH. Fml

Same here. Constantly unsure about which days are due and when so unreliable.

Payroll are incredibly painful 😥 schools forgetting to upload in time 😢 holiday pay all lumped in on top of wages and taxed crazy 🤪 I don’t miss that ! I know someone permanent that got underpaid for years so they put €15k into her next pay packet and she lost thousands in tax 😢😢

Irish teaching payroll is a joke. I finished superintending June 23rd and raced across heavy city 5pm traffic to post claim form ( SEC would not let me submit it at the mail’s centre where I was dropping exam boxes) I still have not being paid even though we were told we would 30 days after they revived form.

First year being on a year long substitute contract, still managed to get all messed up. Some pay checks were for 2 days, some 12. No idea now if I was actually paid for all days or not. Worse still is being paid holiday pay on top of a fortnight that has extra days and losing so much in tax.

This is one reason I left teaching (still work in education). The particular ETB I worked for accidentally forgot to submit hours two Decembers in a row nothing but a sorry you will get it in January! I was CID but switching to a corporate based education job working with the same schools as I did before meant I could buy a house, have savings and stress less.

In the north it’s a monthly wage but if the school doesn’t sign you off before the 3rd working day oh well you’ll get that wage eventually. Absolute joke how subs are treated

It’s a joke! The system is completely unfit for purpose.

It is normally paid two weeks behind and there is a cut off date. If your school has submitted it you should have gotten paid. My daughter does substitute teaching too. She is baffled sometimes by her pay too. Hope you get sorted.
