Iced Banana Bread Latte I have become very picky when it comes to my coffee. I find that most time when I order coffee out it’s either wayyy too sweet or I order it half sweet and it’s not sweet enough lol. Sooo I’ve been having a lot of fun creating my own coffee at home and this Banana Bread Latte has become one of my favorites. What I love about it is that it doesn’t have an overwhelming banana flavor. It’s truly just all the flavors that we know and love from banana bread, with enough banana that you take a sip and think, “wait…is there banana in here?!” If you prefer a sweeter latte, you can definitely add more syrup but that’s the beauty of making coffee at home, it’s fully customizable. I hope you love it as much as I do🫶🏻 Recipe below or on my Substack (link in bio, click “Full Recipes”). Ingredients: For the Latte: Pinch of flaky salt 2 tablespoons homemade banana bread syrup (add more to taste if you prefer a sweeter latte) Handful of ice 6oz whole milk 2 shots espresso (I used @Nespresso Double Espresso Chiaro) For the Salted Maple Cold Foam: 2 tablespoons heavy cream 2 tablespoons whole milk 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup Pinch of flaky salt For topping: Sprinkle of cinnamon Pinch of flaky salt (if desired) For the Banana Bread Syrup: 2 overripe bananas, mashed 1 ½ cups light brown sugar, packed 1 cup filtered water 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg Pinch of ground cardamom ½ teaspoon fine sea salt 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract To Make the Banana Bread Syrup: Add the water, brown sugar, mashed banana, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and salt to a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves, about 5-7 minutes (do not rapidly boil). Remove from heat and allow steep for about 30 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing lightly on the banana to extract as much flavor as possible. Stir in the vanilla and store refrigerated in a sealed container for 1-2 weeks. To Make the Latte: Add the banana bread syrup and a pinch of flaky salt to a glass. Fill with ice and pour in the milk. Top with the espresso. Froth together the heavy cream, milk, maple syrup, and salt until thickened but still pourable. Pour cold foam over latte and sprinkle with cinnamon and flaky salt, if desired. @Nespresso USA #BananaBreadLatte #HomemadeCoffee #CoffeeRecipe #SummerCoffee #CozyRecipes
