@my_chronic_diaries: Okay so here’s what actually happens when I walk. My ankles roll inwards like they’re trying to escape, and my knees turn in to face each other — hypermobility at its finest. I used to get picked on for it, so I taught myself to stand way over on my little toes to make my knees look straight… which obviously made everything worse. Now it all makes sense: the sprains, the falls, the pain, the weird posture. My joints have been doing freestyle gymnastics this whole time. #hypermobility #chronicpainlife #invisibleillnesses #podiatry #realandraw
Everyone used to tease me too as mine are like that, it made me so conscious!

I do the same. I’ve never mentioned it to anyone but have had comments from people saying how weird it is. I physically cannot do it ‘normally’

Hyper mobility, both me and my son do exactly the same. I was the same and just taught myself to deal with it, but I took my son to a physio and OT for support. There are some brilliant inserts for shoes, (not great at this time of year but in a fully enclosed shoe nobody would know they are there!). They help lift the arches and stop the rotation in the ankles.
