I work in branding, and I understand exactly what Selena meant when she said she doesn't want models to represent her brand. I don't think she was shaming models at all. The intention is to highlight other body types that are just as beautiful and often underrepresented. Models naturally represent a certain body type, while many women have bodies more like Ella's. Diversity means creating space for all body types, not replacing one with another. Yes, Ella is famous, but her body feels so real and relatable. Healthy doesn't always mean skinny, and her body reflects that while fitting the brand's positioning.
