the trick is to watch it from a peripheral view. when you see it go the opposite way, wait for the triangle formed by the 3 circles in the center to face you, then look at the atom directly. it changes directions for me that way every time.

Watch it as a whole, look past it and visualize it turning the other direction

Just blink rapidly both eyes but alternating between the left and right eye. As soon as it changes direction, keep one eye closed. After a few seconds you can open the eye. During blinking, your brain will select only one of the two rotations.

if u blink and stare at the orange cube in the middle it will spin towards the left side, if u blink and look at a blank space between the white dot things it will spin towards the right side
